Safeguarding and Protecting Children

Every child deserves to learn and develop in an environment that is both safe and secure, which promotes health and wellbeing.  By following the requirements detailed in our Safeguarding and Protecting Children policy, Kidspiration offers an enabling, high quality, environment for children where risks are minimized and well managed, and children are protected from harm and abuse.

Our Safeguarding and Protecting children policy is available to view at any time. There is a copy located outside of the Managers office. There is also a summary of this in our Nursery Handbook.

Darren Elliott and Rebecca Elliott are the designated safeguarding officers at Kidspiration.  Claire McQuade will take on this role in the event that both designated officers are unavailable. However, this is unlikely and we aim for all of us to work collaboratively together in any event or situation to make the right decision.

If you are a member of the public and are concerned about the safety of a child you should call Children’s Social Work Services:

Office hours (9.00am – 5.00pm) on 0113 3760336

Out of Office hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) 0113 5350600

If you think a child is immediate danger call the police on 999 out of office hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays).

The NSPCC website has a wealth of information on preventing abuse and what you can do help protect children.
